our
listings

keep
this
site
operating.
LostVault
was
started
in
September
2003
with
the
idea
of
providing
a
no-cost
service
to
inmates
looking
for
penpals.
Because
of
the
high
demand
for
free
ads
and
too
little
time
on
the
part
of
our
volunteer
staff
,
we
were
forced
to
implement
a
$5
fee
for
inmates
(death
row
is
free)
wishing
to
have
our
staff
post
their
pen
pal
ad.
However,
internet
users
may
post
ads
for
their
incarcerated
loved
ones
free
of
charge.
For
free,
or
a
nominal
$5,
we
provide
for
inmates
what
other
sites
charge
them
a
minimum
of
$20
per
year.
We're
not
out
to
make
money,
but
have
operating,
advertising,
supplies,
and
postage
costs
to
consider.
Donations
can
either
be
mailed,
or
done
via
paypal.
